Disagreement over whether dog is banned breed
A dog at the centre of a protracted legal battle will have his case heard once more today (1 May).
Rex has been in custody for over a year, as judges cannot agree on whether or not he is a banned pit bull breed.
That's despite the case initially being thrown out of court.
If magistrates in Essex grant Rex's final appeal, he could be returned to his Island owners immediately.
The costs of the case have been met by a UK charity appeal.
