Just under 300 children have been suspended from secondary schools in the Isle of Man during the current academic year.
The figure was released by Education Minister Anne Craine in response to a Tynwald question from South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey.
The total figure is 293, eight of which were for more than ten days.
It means on average, one pupil a day is suspended from a secondary school in the Island.

Of those eight, four were from Ballakermeen, three from Ramsey Grammar and one from Castle Rushen.
Ramsey Grammar tops the list for suspensions of less than ten days, with 79 kids being sent home.
St Ninian's had almost as many, 75, while Ballakermeen was the next highest with 59.
Castle Rushen had 48, while QEII was the best by a long way with only half of that figure.
