An historic tall ship which featured in the 1970's TV show "The Onedin Line" will be running day trips to the Island from Liverpool next year.
The Deeside-built Kathleen & May is best-known as the Charlotte Rhodes in the popular series.
She’ll be based in Canning Dock from late March and as well as sailing on the Mersey and its estuary she’ll also make overnight stops at the Island, bringing a dozen passengers at a time.
The tall ship, Britain’s last three-masted topsail schooner, is on the core list of the UK’s National Historic Ships Register.
The Kathleen & May was built in Connah’s Quay in 1900 and will be staying in Liverpool for the Liverpool Boat Show in late April.
After appearing in the Onedin Line from 1971 to 1980, she lay derelict in Gloucester Docks and underwent a £2 million restoration which was finished in 2000.
According to Jim Graves of the Merseyside Adventure Sailing Trust, there’ll be overnight trips to Anglesey, the Isle of Man, Ireland and Belfast.
As yet, there’s no further details on how to book trips.
