Allinson critical of trolls
If a more diverse membership of Tynwald is to be encouraged, online abuse needs to stop - that's the view of Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson.
He says those from different backgrounds need to feel safe to come forward and enter Manx politics, without feeling threatened by vitriolic and personal criticism.
UK politicians have spoken out about the 'mindless abuse' they've suffered online -an inquiry has now been established to investigate the matter.
Dr Allinson told Manx Radio that during last year's Island election, many candidates came under fire:
