Island returnees given chance to isolate for seven, not 14, days
The ability for Island returnees to self isolate for seven days instead of 14, comes into force today (7 September).
Chief Minister Howard Quayle announced people can book in a Covid-19 test on their seventh day of quarantine.
If it's positive, the person must then begin a two-week further quarantine.
If negative they can venture out on the eighth day, but there are restrictions in place for the final six days of what would've been isolation:
Meanwhile, Douglas East MHK Clare Barber says a 14-day self-isolation period offers greater protection for the general public, as not every coronavirus patient has symptoms after a week.
Mrs Barber believes more non-Island residents should be allowed the visit the Isle of Man, but that all arrivals should be subject to a fortnight quarantine.
