The future of land at the back of Central Government Offices will be considered later this year.
The area at Mount Havelock is currently being used as a contractor's compound for remedial work to the Registry and Courthouse.
The Department of Local Government intends to use the site as a temporary car park in the medium-term, and a planning application will be submitted in the near future.
In the longer-term there are various options, including development as a public open space for Government Offices, or an extension to the Courthouse complex.
