Chief Minister Tony Brown faces questions in the House of Keys today (Tuesday) about introducing a Manx bank holiday.
With talk in the United Kingdom of scrapping May Day and replacing it with another holiday such as St George's Day or Trafalgar Day, North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson wants to know if there are similar plans in the Isle of Man.
His question refers to the anniversary of Illiam Dhone's execution on January 2 as one possibility.
But he says there are plenty of other dates later in the year that could be considered:
Gas supplier provides reassurance amid ongoing global market volatility
Farmers in race against time after freight backlog in Heysham
Further changes to sailing schedule due to tidal restrictions
Census 'still one of the most valuable statistical tools' for government
'Immigration is needed' for economic growth on Island
