Found off east coast of the Island
An orange-coloured substance which has appeared in the sea off the east coast of the Island is an algae bloom, according to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
It says the algae appears as a result of high light levels, nutrients and calm water.
The advice is that while it isn't harmful itself, it may result in decomposition smells and swimming around it should be avoided.
