
Manx farmers could gain advantage from the organic food market.
That’s according to a Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry interim report which suggests organic produce could generate £2.6m for Island farmers and retailers within five years.
An organic working party was set up earlier this year to consider whether enough customers would consider buying organic produce and if the products could be profitably produced in the Island.
Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne welcomed the report and a potentially substantial share of the market for organic products:
