People invited to find out more about local authority candidates
An outdoor public meeting is being held in the Market Square in Castletown tonight (19 July).
The people of the town are being invited to find out more from the candidates standing to become commissioners in the local authority elections on Thursday.
The hustings will take place from 7pm, with socially distant seating provided.
Organisers had planned to hold it in the civic centre, but decided the poorly ventilated hall was inappropriate given the increase in Covid cases.
The move outdoors was made to allow voters to make a considered choice about whether to attend.
There are ten candidates standing for the seven available seats in Castletown.
