A popular church service will be held this evening at an unusual venue.
Churches together in Castletown is staging a 'Christingle' in the open space at the centre of Callow's Yard.
'Christingle' means 'Christ light' - as in 'light of the world' - and the service features the presentation of oranges at the alter by members of the congregation.
One of the organisers, the Reverend Peter Robinson, says the whole thing is heavily symbolic (play audio file):
The 'Christingle' service in Callow's Yard starts at 5pm.
