Deal collapse won't mean fare increases
Blocking an offer to extend the Steam Packet's user agreement with government will not affect passengers in the short term, the company has said.
Tynwald is due to vote on a motion later (Tue), which would see the company's £170 million deal rejected while government explores the options for future sea services.
Steam Packet Chief Executive Mark Woodward says it's come as a surprise.
But he's adamant the firm will not hold government to ransom by impacting upon services:
