
Paddy Ashdown believes David Miliband would have made a better Labour leader than his brother.
The former Liberal Democrat leader, who's giving a talk in the Island this evening (March 27), was commenting on the news David Miliband, who was defeated by his brother Ed for the Labour leadership, is retiring from politics.
Lord Ashdown will give a presentation at the Gaiety Theatre tonight on his new book 'A Brilliant Little Operation', the first full account of the World War 11Cockleshell heroes' commando raid on Bordeaux.
He told us he regards David Miliband as a 'centre left' politician - who would have been his choice:
