Motion passed unanimously
If you’d like to know how your MHK has voted on political issues over the past five years, you’ll soon be able to find out on the Tynwald website.
This week, a motion from Chris Thomas MHK was passed unanimously by the court – meaning voting results will be published online.
Roger Tomlinson from the Positive Action Group says it’ll mean people will be able to find out more easily what their representatives have supported or opposed.
But he says he doesn’t believe the increased transparency and scrutiny will mean politicians think twice before they vote for fear of alienating constituents:
