Man hospitalised following assault
Two locals have appeared in court accused of conspiring to cause actual bodily harm.
Twenty-one-year-old Emanuel Jay Kaneen of Douglas and 20-year-old Maisie Elizabeth Mcmahon from Willaston both deny the charges.
The case relates to an incident on February 4 this year when Luke Collison sustained 'substantial bruising' following an assault - having to spend two days in hospital.
The court heard Mr Collison's car was targeted by a group of men with baseball bats whilst parked at the Clypse reservoir in Onchan.
Mr Collison was then attacked himself by the group as he fled from the vehicle - being hit on the head and upper body.
Both Mr Kaneen and Miss Mcmahon deny being involved in the attack.
The pair have been bailed and Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes has adjourned the case until November 1.
