Pupils removed from Douglas school since announcement
The Department of Education and Children has revealed a number of pupils have been taken out of a primary school in Douglas since plans were published to relocate it.
It was announced in June that pupils and staff from St Thomas' school on Finch Road would be moved to a new shared site at Scoill Vallajeelt in Braddan next year.
But a recent Freedom of Information Request shows that, since the announcement, roll numbers at St Thomas' for September have dropped by twelve - suggesting families may have pulled their children from the registers in protest.
A separate request released last week showed 20 residents had signed letters opposing the move.
