MHK says parents are taking a stand and keeping children off school
Parents are taking their children out of school because they don't want them to be taught sex education by religious groups.
That's according to Rushen MHK Michelle Haywood, who says parents are concerned religion is playing a part in lessons on sexual health, contraception and consent.
Dr Haywood ask Education Minister Julie Edge about the issue in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
She says it's not the right way to approach the subject:
