Douglas Borough Council lifts charges
Douglas Borough Council has made all of its pay and display car parks free with immediate effect.
That means people can now park at Drumgold Street, Shaw's Brow and the Bottleneck without it costing them any money, in addition to Chester Street, which the local authority dropped the charges for earlier this week.
A post by the council on social media says it's so key workers and anyone with businesses in the town centre can use the car parks freely.
The post adds this will also make it easier and safer for people who have to go into Douglas to get things like food and medicine, from essential shops that will be remaining open beyond the lockdown, which will be implemented from tonight.
