Arbory School bans 4x4 vehicles from car park
Some parents in the south of the Island have reacted with anger after a local primary school clamped down on parking.
In a newsletter, Arbory School officials say a number of 'near-misses' and excessive speeding during the morning school run have forced them to implement a new 'drop-off' policy.
Under the new rules, vans and large 4x4 vehicles are banned from using the car park, and must instead stop on the road outside.
The school has also requested parents of older children in years 3 to 6 drop them off in a 'safe place nearby' and have them walk to school.
The decision has been labelled 'ludicrous' by online commenters - with some accusing heads of 'predjudice' and others calling for a permanent lollipop person to be hired to improve safety.
The school has yet to comment.
