Minister and Prison Governor give evidence
The first part of an inquiry into the state of the Island's parole and probation services has been adjourned in Douglas.
Former advocate Geoff Karran has been hearing evidence from a range of witnesses since Monday, including the prison governor and Home Affairs Minister.
Issues were raised about the adequacy of staff training, the lack of a legislative framework for parole pleas and the help made available to people upon leaving prison.
The inquiry comes after the death of Gwen Valentine, a visitor who was knocked down and killed by recently-paroled convict Donovan Kitching in April last year.
