Bus Vannin to take patients to airport and sea terminal
The success of a pilot scheme using new arrangements for on-Island patient transfer services will be measured on more than just cost savings.
So says Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford.
From Monday (30 July), Bus Vannin will provide minibus transport, to the airport or sea terminal, for patients in the north with off-Island medical appointments.
The trial replaces the current use of taxis for the journeys.
Mr Ashford says any decision to roll it out further will be judged on patient welfare:
