A ward at Noble's Hospital is back in use, after being closed for six days.
The stroke unit, Ward 7, reopened following a review of staffing and bed availability.
Hospital manager Barbara Scott says stroke patients undergoing acute treatment have returned to the unit.
The Department of Health took the decision to temporarily close the ward last Thursday because of staff shortages caused by sickness.
Ward 7 reopened at lunchtime on Wednesday.
