Council's temporary measures aim to benefit local economy
Pavement guidelines are being temporarily relaxed by Douglas council, to help the hospitality sector adapt to current Covid-19 restrictions.
The council has agreed to the measures to enable certain cafe and restaurant owners to create outdoor seating, to maintain social distancing for customers.
It follows plans proposed by Ocean restaurant on Douglas Quay, for seating along the quayside to benefit a number of businesses in the area.
Council Leader David Christian says it's hoped the move will benefit the local economy.
