Suggestion passed unanimously
Tynwald’s emoluments committee will look into whether members should be paid extra for sitting on committees.
In the court this week, Juan Watterson MHK – the chairman of the select committee looking into how the bodies operate – saw the suggestion passed unanimously.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran had suggested committee members who don’t get more money for being departmental members or ministers should get an extra 30 per cent – or 40 per cent for chairing committees.
His amendment, however, was rejected by the court.
