More than 25,000 sign petition
Protesters are set to gather in St Marks today (Sun 27) to try and save the area’s ‘Elm corridor.’
It comes after more than 25,000 people signed a petition to block a planning application which would see 25 Elm trees felled on Braaid Road to ‘improve road safety.’
Organisers expect the protest to be peaceful.
It’s taking place at St Marks Green from 12:30-1:30pm; more information can be found on the ‘Save the St Marks Elms Peaceful Protest’ page on Facebook.
