30-year-old pleads guilty to causing criminal damage
A court’s heard a Peel man destroyed his partner’s TV, punching it and throwing it out of a door in a row over music.
Thirty-year-old Ian Derek Brown of Magher Breek appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to causing £200 worth of criminal damage on 1 June.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the court shortly before midnight, Brown rowed with his girlfriend about loud music.
He responded by punching her TV, smashing it, before trying to throw it out of a window.
When he couldn’t succeed, he opened the flat’s front door and threw the television into a shared corridor.
The hearing was told when police officers arrived, Brown was in tears.
He was handed a 12-month probation supervision order and ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs and £200 compensation for the TV.
