One of the stars of BBC's Dragons' Den has given his backing to revive the Peel P50.
On last night's edition of the show marketing executive Faizal Khan and property magnate Gary Hillman came before the Dragons with an idea to launch a range of merchandise inspired by the tiny cars.
The pair, who own Peel Engineering, have built life-sized replicas of the P50 and successfully got two of them in to Ripley's Believe Or Not museums in London and New York, with 12 more on the way.
Millions visit these places every year, so Faizal and Gary are hoping to cash in on the interest generated with things like remote controlled and Matchbox models of the cars.
Four of the Dragons were put off by a somewhat sketchy business plan, but James Caan decided to take a punt on it, offering them the £80,000 they sought for a 50% stake in the company, 40% more than Faizal and Gary originally offered:
