
A half-term swim scheme in memory of a little boy from Douglas who died in a holiday tragedy, has been cancelled because the Western Swimming Pool is closed.
The Joe Fish Swim Fund, for young non-swimmers, was set-up after the death of 4-year Joseph Panter, who drowned while on holiday in Egypt last year.
Filtration problems at the Western Pool have forced managers to close the facility until further notice - they say contractors from the UK can't begin work for at least three weeks.
The closure has also put-paid to dozens of lessons and events at the pool - inconveniencing hundreds of local people.
Assistant Manager Louise Williams says having to cancel the Joe Fish event is distressing:
