Those taking part in water activities urge to follow safety advice

Two paddleboarders have been rescued by one of the Island's lifeboat crews after being pushed out to sea by the wind.

The duo got into difficulties in Port Erin on Thursday when the offshore wind made it difficult for them to return to shore.

They were able to signal Peel's RNLI team, who were already out on the water in the area and brought the women back to safety.

The charity says there's been an increase in water activities in recent weeks as the weather has improved, and is urging those taking to the sea to wear a buoyancy aid, carry a phone and check the weather.
