The commissioners want to undertake refurbishment on the building
Peel Commissioners has confirmed the sailing club will have its lease taken back - but not until 2027 when the current one expires.
The local authority says it needs to take the building back to do maintenance work including electrical, plumbing and the roof.
However, the sailing club claims Peel Commissioners hasn't spoken to it prior to making the decision.
Chair Christine Moughtin says the board will be going through the usual tender process once it has been refurbished.
