More divers needed
It now seems unlikely anything will be done about a crack in Peel's sewage outfall pipe until Monday next week.
That would be exactly one week after the Department of Infrastructure's team of divers was due to go and inspect the pipe.
Manx Radio understands the DoI's team, through annual leave and sick leave, currently doesn't have enough members to carry out the work.
The regulations require five of them to undertake this type of procedure, which will be conducted from a vessel.
The Manx Utilities Authority says for now it will continue to manually operate the outflow, reducing the volume of sewage being pumped into Peel bay during the daytime.
