A sewage plant for Peel is back on the political agenda.
Commissioners there discussed proposals for a dedicated sewage plant at a private meeting on Tuesday.
Peel MHK Tim Crookall has this morning confirmed a presentation outlining a sewage plant scheme within the boundaries of Peel town was given by officials from the Department of Infrastructure.
Chairman of the Water and Sewerage Authority Graham Cregeen was at the meeting, along with Mr Crookall himself.
Reports a vote was taken approving the scheme haven't yet been confirmed.
At present sewage from the town is pumped untreated into the bay.
Peel Commissioners rejected plans for a plant in the town in 2009, as part of a scheme for regional sewage works around the Island. The issue wasn’t due to be reconsidered until 2014.
Commissioners have refused to comment saying it was a private meeting.
