Dr Allinson quizzed over planned uprating
The treasury minister says he does believe planned changes to the Manx state pension comply with equality laws.
Some MHKs say it's unfair to apply the proposed Manx Pension Guarantee to people who retire after 5 April 2019 whilst keeping those who retired previously under the triple-lock.
The guarantee would see pensions rise annually by one of two options; the preceding September’s figure for Manx CPI inflation or 2 percent, whichever is higher.
The triple lock assures pensions will rise annually by inflation, average earnings, or 2.5 percent, depending on which is higher, and is linked via a reciprocal agreement with the UK.
