Island 'falling behind international standards'
People on the Isle of Man are being urged to have their say on trade union legislation.
The Department for Enterprise says it intends to make a number of changes to employment law in the current administration.
A public consultation is running until the end of October which looks at industrial action in essential services, ballot requirements and recognition of trade unions in the workplace.
Government says the Island is ‘falling behind international standards’ in relation to employment rights.
It’s tasked the DfE with delivering reform to ensure the Island is aligned with international standards and remains a competitive and attractive place to work.
The trade union consultation has been issued in tandem with a series of other consultations on employment legislation which can be found HERE.
Responses will be used to inform the development of the Employment (Amendment) Bill which will be brought forward in 2025.
The consultations end on 29 October.
