Fire Service asking people to check chimneys, alarms and heated blankets
Firefighters are urging people to ensure their homes are safe ahead of the winter.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says it receives an increase in callouts at this time of year – mainly due to issues with chimney fires.
It’s asking people to consider sweeping their chimneys, testing their fire alarms and checking their electric blankets ahead of winter.
Fire Safety Officer David Dallimore says due to rising energy prices more people may become reliant on other sources of heat:
