A relaxation of the Isle of Man's work permit rules comes into force today (January 1).
It means off-Island staff can work here for ten days a year before they need a permit, instead of just three.
And certain categories of temporary employment are exempt from the work permit system altogether.
The changes have proved controversial.
The Department of Trade and Industry says they will make the Island an easier place to do business, but trade unions say it's another blow to working people, as it means less protection for their jobs.
Former senior trade unionist and Manx nationalist Bernard Moffatt believes it's a move in the wrong direction:
