Mayor of Douglas defends council colleague
The Mayor of Douglas has called personal attacks on the leader of Douglas Council disgusting.
Janet Thommeny says the decision to make bin collections fortnightly was made by the whole council, so people should refer complaints to any councillor, not just Claire Wells.
The Mayor, who voted for fortnightly bin collections, spoke out in a Facebook group of people against the change.
She's defended Mrs Wells, reminding people the council leader acts in an unpaid position 'ensuring ratepayers money is best used'.
