Woman struggled to find signal during dramatic incident
A woman involved in a dramatic cliff rescue on Marine Drive is calling for emergency phones to be installed on the scenic route.
Poor signal meant Laura Eckersely had to drive away from the scene of the incident to call the emergency services.
Both her partner and her dog were rescued unharmed but it's prompted a petition calling for government to consider installing phones along the popular road.
She says it would be a sensible step to take:
The Department of Infrastructure is currently consulting on plans to pedestrianise the area.
