From midnight tonight, fuel duty and VAT on petrol and diesel will rise by at least two pence a litre.
It's happening because of changes in the United Kingdom which will automatically apply in the Island as well.
Motoring organisations in the UK suggest the increase will amount to an additional £54 a year for families with two cars.
