Tickets for the Kaiser Chiefs gig at the Villa Marina in August sold out within an hour this morning.
Hundreds of disappointed fans were turned away from the Welcome Centre, despite many of them having queued since before the box office opened.
Some had been waiting in line since 8am.
Demand at the Sea Terminal increased when the online box office crashed.
