
Queen's Pier Restoration Trust now waits on gov't
Plans to restore an iconic landmark in Ramsey have moved a step further.
The Queen's Pier Restoration Trust has been granted preliminary planning permission to rejuvenate the first section of the structure.
Volunteers from the local community - including engineers, architects and practically-minded residents - are banding together to raise money and carry out the work themselves.
Development will begin pending a signed lease from the Manx government, which owns the pier.
Though the full scale project is estimated to require £1.5 million over the next five years, project manager Tom Durrant says money is needed in phases:
