Moves to turn it into a social club
The future of the Pinewood pub in Pulrose could be secured, with the possibility of it becoming a social club.
There was disappointment in the community when owner Heron and Brearley announced last month it would be closing the pub in early July.
But a public meeting held on Friday night saw more than 60 people go along, to try and work what could be done to save their local.
South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey was there, too, and says people are rallying around:

Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
Nursery group wants to 'bridge the gap' for families of two-year-olds
Orchestra hoping to attract 'different kind of audience' at next concert
