Community hub rescued by local residents
The Pinewood Social Club will be officially opened to members this lunchtime (Sat 29th, midday)
The former pub was closed by brewery Heron and Brearley earlier this year on financial grounds.
It's now been rescued by local residents in the form of a community hub.
Chairman of Pinewood Social Club, Bill Malarkey MHK, who spearheaded the campaign to retain the club, says today is the culmination of four months of committed hard work from many local and professional volunteers , and the club's future now looks promising.
The Social Club will be open to members only. Anyone interested in joining can pick up a membership form at Pulrose Post Office.
The opening at midday will be performed by "Pullyman", Michael Cowin
