Planning approval for new Living Hope Church building

Church to convert former music shop on Finch Road

Plans for a new place of worship in Douglas have been unanimously approved by the planning committee.

Living Hope Church Ltd will convert a former music shop on Finch Road into a 'community facility'.

The church is planning to use Removals House as a place of worship for its members, as well as youth meetings and special events. 

On their website, they say: "The Living Hope Douglas City Centre Congregation is a growing and thriving multicultural congregation with over 250 on a Sunday morning from 20 nations.

"We love to see lives transformed through Jesus, the lonely finding a family, and the nations impacted by the power of the Gospel."

Plans (23/01200/B) show the intention to use electric heating, put in insulation and replace the windows, as the building is currently dilapidated.

The charity plans to make the building accessible by making the ground floor step free and installing a disabled toilet and accessible seating.

No off-road parking will be provided, so instead members of the community will be asked to use the nearby Chester Street car park.
