A Ramsey Commissioner is concerned planning permission notices aren't being properly displayed.
Leonard Singer (pictured) believes the yellow posters are often hard to see because they aren't always put up on the boundary of sites, where they are meant to be.
He says it's unclear whether any subsequent permission would be valid: "The intention is to give the public a chance to object, if necessary, and put their views on a particular planning application.
"Ramsey Town Commissioners have decided to write to the Planning Committee to ask about the validity of a planning permission if, for example, they grant a planning permission and then there is a complaint and they find out that the notice wasn't properly displayed. Does that invalidate the planning permission? Obviously we don't want that as it can cause a lot of problems."
