Manx Care could work with Alder Hey
Plans to develop a ME/CFS and Long Covid service for children on the Isle of Man are underway.
Manx Care is working with Alder Hey Children's Hospital to look at how it can help younger patients suffering with the conditions.
Referrals for a service for adults were started, on Island, in January 2023 with the service officially launching in April.
As of 12 February this year:
- 139 patients had been seen within the service
- 17 had been referred and were waiting to be triaged
- 108 people had been assessed and were waiting for therapy or attendance at a specialist workshop
