A landmark of the temperance movement in Douglas could soon be converted into a pre-school, if planners give the go-ahead.
The Rechabite Hall in Allan Street would provide childcare for 12 babies, and 32 older children.
Amaukiye Holden of Glen Park in Douglas says the facility would eventually provide up to eight full-time jobs.
If her planning application is successful, the building would open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays.

In her application, Mrs Holden says there’s a large amount of on-street parking for parents nearby, and the site is easily accessible by bus or on foot .
As the building is registered, she’s also had to apply for registered building consent to change its use from offices.
The development would mean converting an existing kitchen into toilets and fitting kitchen units in an open-plan office area.
