
There are plans to demolish the iconic Castletown Golf Links Hotel and replace it with a new 50-bedroom hotel and serviced apartments.
The idea is still at a very early stage, and comes just weeks after a planning condition was quashed, meaning the owner of the derelict hotel - the Dandara Group - could build apartments on the site.
Concerns have already been voiced by the Derbyhaven Residents Association, who are worried about inappropriate development, and have called for Langness to become the Island’s first national heritage area.

Mr Cregeen says he has arranged for a meeting involving the developer, residents and himself for next month, and he hopes the plans can be progressed to everyone's satisfaction.
