Park Road site previously zoned for new primary school
Plans to replace a Douglas primary school with a new facility at Park Road have been shelved.
Work to build a replacement for Scoill yn Jubilee on land that's been vacant since the former St Ninian's Lower School was demolished was expected to get underway last year.
However, Education Minister Julie Edge has confirmed it's now been assessed that the site doesn't meet requirements for a primary school.
As a result, plans to redevelop Scoill yn Jubilee won't be progressed further until an alternative site is sourced.
