MNH looking to take down extension added in 1980s
Plans have been submitted to demolish part of the former police station in Castletown.
Manx National Heritage is seeking consent to carry out the work on the registered building situated at The Quay.
MNH is looking to knock down the 1980's extension at the rear of the property to create space for a courtyard area.
It would also be aimed at improving access between the station and the restaurant in Harbour Mews.
In the proposals, architectural firm Horncastle Thomas says the extension is of low quality and in poor condition.
It adds the extension also has 'limited architectural value' in relation to the original building.
The plans are now pending consideration.
